Department of Informatics

ESTABLISHMENT

Based on the decision of the Council of Higher Education Executive Board dated June 17, 1997, and numbered 97.19.1429, the University Senate, through decision numbered 3, dated March 26, 2004, decided to establish an Informatics Department affiliated with the Rectorate. The proposal for the establishment of the Informatics Department was reviewed at the Council of Higher Education Executive Board meeting on April 9, 2004, and approved pursuant to Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547, as amended by Law No. 2880. This decision shaped the structure of the Informatics Department established within the Rectorate of Dumlupınar University.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE UNIT

The Informatics Department is one of our university's gateways to information technologies. While our department does not accept students, it contributes significantly to the delivery of courses in information technologies, programming, and network technologies, which are offered by different names in each program offered by other associate and undergraduate programs.

The program curriculum is designed to allow students to develop their expertise, research, or project areas in the areas of the Internet, networking, web technologies, and coding.

Our department works in coordination with our university's Digital Transformation and Software Office and Distance Education Center.
